Shalom, שָׁלוֹם, means peace, but its meaning is much richer. In Scripture, it carries the idea of wholeness, well-being, harmony, and life ordered as God intends it to be. Shalom is not the absence of trouble, but the settled peace that comes from resting in God’s character, trusting His rule, and believing His promises. It reminds us that true peace is found in God Himself and in the confidence that He is faithfully at work in all things.
